Niece of Sofia Alentieva, an old woman, killed in 1992, was shocked twice. First time it was when police informed her that the murderer, who was hiding for 15 years, had been found. The second is when he was released.

He was arrested in February 2007 and charged with hooliganism. Police accidentally found out that he was involved in the chain of old women murders, committed during the 90-s in Karachaevo-Cherkesiya. His fingerprints were identified.

Kuzmenko spent 11 months in isolator, waiting for trial. The case sessions were closed; criminal was sentenced for 12 years imprisonment and released at once.

After the first emotion shock recessed in Kuzmenko's family, they suddenly worried about his future prospects. Ivan has no passport, his relatives say. False one was withdrawn by police. During the family council, they decided to appeal with the demand of free person rights to be returned.
