 The city Ulan-Ude is out of heating systems at the moment. The reason is a serious accident that happened at one of two city thermal power stations. Air temperature is -30 degrees Celsius in the region; citizens switched on electric heaters in their homes. All the trams had stopped working due to the lack of electric power in the city. A lot of schools and kindergartens are temporarily closed.City mayoralty asked the citizen to save the electricity; companies administrations were asked to comprehend the employees (i.e. parents), who cannot leave their children alone in homes. Fire at city thermal power station took place on Friday at 14:25 (GMT+3). Firstly, the electric cable fired; later - the turbine. Another 6 turbines were automatically disabled. Repairing works are at process. State of Emergency reason is yet unknown. There is a version that turbine cooling systems gave a hydrogen outflow, which exploded later. Criminal case has been started due to the clause "Breaking of Security Rules at The Explosion-Hazardous Places".
